Yeah, we sometimes forget just how bad- truly bad- those 2007-'11 teams were overall.
At one point late in 2014 Fisher was 20-24-1 as Rams' HC (.456) before losing the final 3 that season. And 24-30-1 midway through 2015 before things just started to go south. Like you said obviously a step up in steadying the franchise. Just couldn't take them further than that.
I haven't forgot. That's why I appreciate Goff as much as I do. All the bad QB play we have seen here for the last 18 years is still very FRESH in my mind. I remember the long list of QB's including a #1 pick, some grizzled vets and a ton of "could be's" and "can't miss" HC's. I've seen the ALL fail. Time after time. Year after year.
One of the main reasons we are no longer that bad is mainly due to 2 things. The HC AND the QB. BOTH are above average. BOTH are winners. BOTH will own all the Rams records before they are done.
Try to replace either one and we could be right back to the dark days again. I would much rather ride with what we have and look for improvement from both the HC and the QB. I am pretty sure neither have "peaked" yet. I am hoping they "peak" here...together.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
