If you're talking about where they could use improvement down the stretch, yeah, ILB and kicker would top their list.
But if by "needs" you mean 2021 I would have to disagree. Kiser could be better but he's also not a liability. And he has room to improve next year. Same with Young. Conversely, on the Edge Floyd and Ebukam will be UFAs leaving with them Lewis, Hollins, and..... that's about it. Maybe Okoronkwo as depth.
Elite NFL defenses are predicated on great coverage and getting to the QB. Going into 2021 I'd have Edge rusher far, far ahead of adding more talent at ILB.
Great post, 93, and I have a couple of thoughts here about their possible ‘21 offseason strategy.
I would not rule out a 5 year Floyd extension if he keeps this up. It’s doable cap wise if they really want to and what better position to invest in a proven talent in this Staley D?
The loss of Ebu would not trouble me in the least. In fact, I fully expect it. Heck, I’ll help him pack his bags. Lol.
Lewis, Obo, and Hollins show promise at edge, so one of them might well earn a future starting position there in ‘21. Even if not, Rams might prefer to use a 3rd at edge rather than their 2nd.
So, by my process of elimination, the better value/need might be at ILB next draft depending on exactly who falls, of course.
Obviously, those are bridges that we will only have to cross after we’ve won the SB. Lol.
