At safety, I have always really liked Johnson but they're clearly in a good place with Fuller, Rapp, Burgess and Scott.
Reynolds could end up with 40+ catches and 600+ yards and line himself up for a nice 2nd contract.
Like you said, we added Rapp and 2 other safeties intending to lose JJ. And when have we kept a safety?
We drafted Hopkins assuming we'd lose Everett
I think we drafted Jefferson to protect against losing Kupp or Woods, but we'll be told he'll replace Reynolds. (Haven't seen him stretch the field yet so I'm not convinced.)
On paper, replacing players before their contract ends isn't a bad way to operate.
