Really good analysis of Miami game by a former QB, on you tube.
He basically started with the fact that Miami coach Flores was with the Patriots vs. Rams in the superbowl so brings the same concepts on stopping McVay as we saw in the SB.
One thing he said is "majority of the jet sweeps go to Robert Woods", so you just have the defense keep an eye on woods and don't worry about all the other smoke and mirrors behind the LOS that McVay does. If this guy knows this, any Defensive coordinator should.
Then he goes on to explain what everyone is saying which is to confuse Goff with which guys are blitzing and often there is 1 more blitzer than blocker and Goff is clueless. Majority of the time they pulled the extra guy back into coverage, but you still have to account for him. Everytime they actually sent him, Goff ignored him and likely assumed the guy would drop back like he had been doing and didn't even keep an eye out. Simms was blown away that as a fifth year guy, Goff was struggling with this.
Smh.
Not anything new, but to me McVay's system is too gimmicky and not based enough on solid fundamentals. The little nuances to get a linebacker leaning the other way for an extra second are great but should be in addition to your plan not THE plan.
