I expect more from McVay

McVay's instincts are to attack and impose his will on the other team, but it requires very good, consistent execution from the QB. Is he maybe over-estimating Goff's ability? We have a solid O-line, very good receivers and TE's, 3 good RB's and a very good defense. Maybe Jared is best as a game manager. A bit like what Kyle S. has done with Jimmy G in San Fran or Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee.

If you look at the game yesterday, instead of expecting Goff to beat the zero pressure over and over, run more max protect and 12 personnel and kick field goals, punt, try and protect the football / gain the field position advantage and minimize the turnovers. We could have easily won that game 9-3 or 12-7 or whatever.

McVay is ultimately responsible for the team's performance. He has to know his players strengths and weaknesses and be able to put those players in the best position to perform at their best.

If Goff is a "game manager" as you say, it's up to McVay to call plays that are best for a "game manager". IMO, he is not doing that. McVay is slow to adjust sometimes. There is a pattern forming and he needs to change it. When things aren't going well for our O, McVay doesn't seem to adjust quick enough IMO.

Staley seems very good at half time and in game adjustments so far. McVay needs to be better. If Goff has issues handling "pressure", then why did McVays call all those empty backfields while Miami was bringing the house? Where were the roll outs? The screens? More running the ball to force Miami out of that Zero Blitz? How long did it take for McVay to counter that 6-1 front? A year and a half?

Yes, Goff has flaws and limitations. All QB's do. We need our HC to know what they are and call plays that enhance his strengths not his weaknesses and make the right adjustments at the right time.

I love McVay and don't want any other coach right now but he does have things to improve on as well as Goff. Football is a team sport and coaches play a VERY important part of that teams success. Just compare Fisher to McVay (or anyone really lol) when they both had basically the same players.

#HelmetHornsMatter

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.

“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
