Cover zero means no free safety on the field. DBs are manned up.
It is strictly a blitz package, because if you don't get home with the blitz, your corners are all on islands with ZERO help...
Man Free is a single safety that is free to cover, double cover or blitz.
Cover 1 is a FS set deep in coverage. This can be man, zone or a combo of both.
Cover 3 is dropping 3 deep (usually 2 safeties and a corner, with your MLB covering the middle of the field)
Cover 4 is a prevent defense and is also known as Quarters, because 2 S and 2 CBs are in a deep zone each covering 1/4 of the field.
