Shouldn't the QB be able to see if a rusher is going to be free if the QB knows the line calls and blocking assignments?
I think this may be a more significant issue than some realize. From Winston to Brady is an obvious example. Which isn't to say that a good QB is never going to be sacked or miss something but in the long run, it makes such a huge difference to have a QB that is getting guys in the right places and is able to recognize what the defense is planning/doing.
I don't think we've seen clear evidence of Goff being good at it. He is very good at executing designed plays and doing what is asked of him but I can't help but question just how capable he is of some of the other responsibilities a QB has.
