Re: Why Shanahan is so good

Don't want to sound like a jerk here or a homer who is denying Shanny's brilliance, but that play isn't really special in any way. It's a simple edge screen where Floyd bites on the rush and doesn't notice that 85 lets him get through real easy. The complementary routes on that side are common too tbh.

Young had nothing else going on but still waited for the OL to turn and seal him. Poor anticipation. But we already knew our ILBs are subpar.

What is most interesting about not only that play but the game at large was that they edged Floyd a ton especially in the first half with the use of outside skill positions. I'm sure the Rams will work with him on that, and for the record he's been really good all season so far in contain.

Also while I'm thinking about it the coverage wasn't cover 3. It was their base quarters look (and with a loose two-read exchange by Williams there I might add lol).
