I feel like Goff was seeing a different team then they schemed for. He was not comfortable with what he was seeing and asked to do. The WR were not either. They were not winning enough and yet we were forcing to them. We have TE and we used sparingly. We hve young WR with fresh legs and hops and yet we went with wods and kup who were not getting open enough. I have to think if Goff and his vet WR were calling the game they would have schemed it differently and just another case of McVay being out coached because he over complicates stuff. He probably over prepares and basically we got a result that was like we mastered none of it.
Goff was awful imo - why when I am such a fan because he apparently still hasn't reached the level you need to reach when you orchestrate the offence and command the field and the plays. He should have gone to O'Connell and McVay and said early on this is not working. Get me some personel in that can runn these plays or let me tell you what I like. If he was getting harrassed like last year or like AR did on Sunday I would understand but that was not the case.
The worse thought is he may have an injury impacting his grip on the ball or throwing motion. Grossly inconsistent. I hope they are not messing with his stroke during the season. I hope they start letting him cook like Wilson more. Else they better call better game plan.
