...are very efficient in offense so far this year and Goff's rating is way over 100 this year. Of course you need a really good QB to win and Goff is that in my opinion. He is not perfect (the forced INT at WAS kept them from finishing off WAS sooner and was a bad read), but I am actually a huge Goff fan. I think his control of the offense is light years ahead of even last year.
However, the Rams are built to run to set up the pass. They play action 49% this year and it is working (Goff is averaging 9.0 yards per pass attempt) because of the threat of the run, just like in 2017 and 2018. Of course you need good OT's, good WR's, etc., but they cannot do it consistently without the run game. Kudos for McVay for changing; he is the real deal.
Last year? They could not run consistently and Gurley was a major hindrance and Goff, the OL, everything kinda suffered a lot.
Of course they need to pass well, but again, it is all predicated on the run, just like SF.
I think Goff is way better than Jimmy G and improving, but if they get down by 14+, some bad things can happen...
