Yes he has done some short kicks....BUT that allows us to actually keep a team from getting to the 25.....IF we could cover the kicks....IMO you need to look at the coverage issues as much as his leg strength. The coverage is the pits.....KO are mostly not relative anymore, kick it into/deep in the endzone, the team starts at the 25. However if you can actually cover short kicks well you can force teams to start deeper in their territory....It can be a good thing...IF you can cover.....IMO we need to get much better on our coverage team....much better....it could make his short kicks a plus.
As far as his FG/XP kicking....well he is not that much worse then many others at this time in the season.....I really don't trust him outside of 35-40 yards.....but if we do right in the red zone that issue would not be as important....
He's a rookie, he's playing like one.....Sometimes they take time to get the "pro" confidence going....
So far he has not done any harm, or gotten us a loss.....Improve the coverage team and his kicks good be a blessing in disguise.....I can see getting the CFL guy...but to me the bigger issues are consistent pass rush, and ST coverage, and having need of some punt returns showing up.
