A couple of things I'm curious about these 13th and 14th rankings you so often bring up:

- First, PFF has him ranked 13th while under pressure but 19th overall. Do you agree with their overall grade? If not, why wouldn't that be considered cherry-picking by you?

- Second, the Atlantic's 14th ranking of Goff is out of QB's considered to be starters. How many of those were there(it's a pay site so I can't get the whole article). If it isn't out of 32, that 14th ranking is a bit disingenuous isn't it?

You have no idea what I would say in response to those things yet you assume? You can't do THAT and then pretend you're being more "objective." Do one or the other.

1. I have no issue with a 19th overall ranking for 2019 because he was playing behind a problem OL, and objectively, that (except in rare cases) hurts qb performance. The exact same issue (OL regression) affected Ryan and Rivers last year too. You need to look up "cherry picking." The discussion was about ranking qbs under pressure. Bringing in a different issue just changes the topic. Given that it would be better to simply say something like "well let's expand the discussion, what about overall ranking." In terms of that, as long as you have raised a new and separate issue, several places listed him in the high teens and 20s for 2019. As I said, the OL situation directly affected his rankings. Some places made the mistake of assuming that he would play the same way behind a solid OL like this year, but whatever---that mistake is surprisingly common when it comes to qb assessment.

2. Do you mean the Athletic? That's Rich Hammond getting info from an exclusive pay site the Athletic uses for stats. Sportrac is of course tied to PFR, PFR gets stats from them too. "Considered to be starters" excludes temporary replacements. In 2018 29 QBs had 10 or more starts, and 32 had 8 or more starts. I don't know what number they used. Either way whatever your "accusation" is, it's aimed at Rich Hammond and the Athletic, since he and they saw fit to publish that detail. A number of qbs in 2019 had something like 80 or fewer attempts and I assume they were excluded. Is being ranked13th okay with a problem OL? I would say yes.

The alternative is to arbitrarily declare only one site doing this stat can be a source and of course that's nonsense.
