Vince: What the difference the post is describing between Snead and the Saints is that the Saints don’t have a plan B, where, Snead, drafting a year ahead of a potential problem, had a plan B.
Snead drafted for need. Saints drafted for best player available.
What’s misapplied here, in my opinion, is that the poster should have been referencing Henderson rather than Akers. If my memory is correct, Akers was drafted after the Rams cut Gurley.
So, to make the point that the poster was trying to make, the Rams drafted Henderson as a plan B in case the Gurley contract was a deal gone bad.
And I concur. I like where the Rams are. The Rams signed Kupp today, but they had leverage to let him walk since they drafted Jefferson.
The Rams may sign John Johnson, but they have leverage to let him walk with the young talent that can step right in.
So, I think the post 43 shared gives us a reason to be grateful we have Snead, rather than a guy drafting without a plan.
Just trying to broker peace. I am a middle child after all.
