When Khan took over, the Jags turned around quickly. Khan made promises to develop the Downtown area and the old Shipyard grounds (Right next to stadium property on the River) But 3 years later, the team has gone from VERY good to absolute junk. Nothing........I mean NOTHING has happened in Downtown or around the stadium. EXCEPT.... Whispers of a "with the times" stadium needed in the not too far future (HOW many times have NFL towns heard that???)
The city itself??? SUCKS!!!!!!!! The ONLY thing going for Jacksonville is the beach. Other than that, almost EVERY area of town has turned to crap. There are areas that just 25-30 years ago were GREAT but now crime filled dumps. We have a beautiful river with almost ZERO to do around it. Very few restaurants on the water front. Downtown is an absolute BUM FEST.
I thought Khan might be the savior of the Downtown area but so far??? Jacksonville has not had a PROactive Mayor since Jake Godbold (1979-87) Khan probably is not getting much cooperation.
I USED to be very proud of my town. Now me and the Wife wanna bolt so bad! If certain logistics pan out, we are outta here. I said 2 years ago, the Jags will be gone in 10-12 years. It might be sooner................... unless something drastic changes SOON!
