From most it’s friendly ‘grief’, from a few others it comes across as not quite so friendly.
So, forgive me if I indulge myself in really enjoying this current Boom success chapter in his career.
I’ve been a big Boom fan since he shined in ‘18 vs the 49ers while relieving the injured Whit. I still think he’s our likely future at LOT when Whit hangs ‘em up. That’s no small thing.
I know that many dismissed Boom’s recovery chances until at least midseason but I believed McVay when he said Boom would be ready for camp.
My confidence in this overall OL was really reinforced when the Rams made their other needed position picks, ignoring OL until Anchrum in the 7th while other posters gnashed their teeth. It now seems like Snead/Kromer/McVay knew exactly what the heck they were doing, huh?
Mind you, I never thought Boom would be a potential starter at LG. I want to be crystal clear about that. Heck, I don’t think any of us did.
So, now here we are. We have at least 5 drafted rookies that are really impressing in camp at needed positions. I’m even thinking Akers, Jefferson, Lewis, and Burgess might prove to be steals where drafted. Fuller in the 6th is looking like another tremendous value pick. I remain optimistic about Hopkins and Johnston, too.
AND we seem to have an OL that is so deep that Edwards and Evans might have to come off the bench. How do you like THEM apples? Lol.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go out on the patio and indulge in a ‘happy dance’. Carry on...
