I don't hate him or anything. It's just that when you're a depth player you have one requirement: be available. He's not been available. And it's a shame too because last year the team would have fed him the ball. They were looking for someone to do that with but he just couldn't hold up.

So I see no reason to think he's going to hold up this year.

Also, he's at a disadvantage vs Akers and Hendy. I love power backs, but McVay definitely favors speed and big play ability. You can see that in the two backs he's drafted. Both those guys are excellent receivers. And before someone tells me that Brown has hands, which I am aware of, it's not just hands. It's body control and RAC, threatening big plays that you want. Brown is none of those things.

I'm sure he'll make the roster but that's about it. We'll see though, I mean the great thing about following a team like we do is you get to enjoy watching players exceed expectations.

I was responding more to Ramsdude than to you. You said his big problem was availability. True. And I think last year, even when available, he was dinged up and less effective than he's been in the past. Ramsdude says he's "nothing special" as a RB. It'd be silly for me to argue that he's "special" when he hasn't even broken 300 yds for a season. But I've been saying for several years now that I thought Brown, when fully healthy, was every bit the runner Gurley was. Not as fast, certainly, but much more powerful and with better balance. Absolutely underrated.

Had he been healthy, for example, I think he could have done what CJ Anderson did for us down the stretch of the Super Bowl season. I think he's a quite similar runner.

But, as you say, if he can't stay healthy enough to show it...

I like MB. I really do. I think he has a spot on this team for sure. I am not sure he could be a full time #1 on any team in the NFL though. In a RB committee set up he can be a great asset. His pass blocking and experience are the best on the team at his position and that has to count for something.

I disagree he "was every bit the runner Gurley was". IMO, not even close. However, he is a different type of back than TG so I wouldn't expect him to do the same things TG did either. I just want to see him stay healthy all year so we can really see what he can do. I wouldn't be upset if he proved me wrong and became a superstar RB!!! We need one. smileys with beer

#HelmetHornsMatter

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.

“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
