First, Floyd has never proved to be a good pass rusher. Although in fairness what I've read is that this was not his primary duty; he primarily was a run defender on the strong side. It will depend where they put him.
Second, I don't know where this idea comes from that Hill can't play man. He sure can as far as I could see, and do it very well. Might he be a tad better in zone? Not sure.
As for Offensive packages. Clearly when they drafted Everett it was with the idea that the Rams would play a lot with 2 TEs. Everett being hurt a lot, and not really developing to be consistent and dependable, has derailed that.... although I think he is a weapon. The TE they drafted will be used this year. I suspect we'll see quite the array of sets depending on the opponent. What I see is that McVay has every kind of RB, and every kind of TE, and I expect to see their use vary not only game to game, but within a game depending on match ups.
But nothing works unless the Oline does its job. This is where I expect substantial improvement over last year. But I also expect to see McVay run plays to get the ball out of Goff's hands quicker overall, and especially if the Oline is having trouble keeping the D out. I think Jefferson is suited to getting open quicker and being a bigger target than Cooks...... as are the TEs.
