Kicker is one of the weakest and unstable positions on the Rams’ roster heading into the 2020 season, but they may have just been handed a life raft by the Carolina Panthers. On Thursday, the Panthers released veteran kicker Graham Gano, committing to Joey Slye as their full-time kicker moving forward.
Gano just signed a four-year, $17 million contract with the Panthers in 2018, so his release comes earlier than expected. He did miss the entire 2019 season, though, and was going to be somewhat expensive by kickers’ standards this year.
