That is dumb, but I'm not a big fan of the jersey exchange so won't be sad to see that go.

People like to act like there are "funny" things about this. The earlier rule about no jersey swapping was met with amusement because after playing a game full of physical contact, merely swapping jerseys is irrelevant.

Meanwhile the actual complaint is that the NFL's own medical advisors call for a 21 day acclimation period before any games are played. The league wants to violate that by having pre-season games anyway. The players do no want to risk anything for games that have no standing, and they point to the 21 day acclimation period, as the NFL's own medical people recommended.

And in fact, their demands about that make sense. .....
