I understand the Bortles signing last year and certainly it was good for the rookie Wolford to get his feet wet and learn before he got thrown into the fray.
But I think he's exactly the QB2 you want. He's a gamer. He's very mobile. You can see the self-confidence. He brings a different dimension and that is what you want from QB2. By having a different kind of player as QB2 it becomes tough on the opposition D to change up to deal with him for a couple of games.
This bigger issue is what happens if it's a long term injury. The reality is that it is rare that QB2s, including vets, can keep you in the running if QB1 is injured long term. Sure, it happens. But not often.
The Rams needs to stick with Wolford. He is a player.
