Doug Smith got old and dropped off a cliff in 1991. Brostek was drafted in 1990 to take over but was OK not great. Slater was declining by 1992. Guys like Joe Milinichik, Gerald Perry, Robert Jenkins were becoming starting OL and, while Newberry was excellent, overall it was a far cry from the '70s-'80s OLs.
