Brown had every chance the past two years to grab a more meaningful role and was dinged up or injured in both instances. He's going to be the power back on the depth chart nothing more than that.
You can't take a guy like Snead at face value on anything he says. And also the Rams are better than most in fact as an organization in buttering guys up in the media. It's all BS.
The truth is the Rams prioritized RB in the draft. There was a reason for that, which is they don't trust the other guys. Period. Now Hendy did show some good things in a very small sample size but the rumors about him struggling to grasp the playbook, if real, would compensate for that. They clearly weren't comfortable positioning themselves where they relied on him this year. Same with Brown and the rest of these guys.
Going forward Akers will get most of the carries. Hendy will be the backup, the guy who can come in and nothing changes. And Brown should be the garbage time guy, when you just want to grind it on the ground. There is room for these guys to eff that up, like Hendy did last year in struggling to learn the playbook (think that was covered by Vinny). But the previous RB coach got axed so I am sure the new guy is going to do everything he can to ensure everybody in that room has a good grasp.
