Does he realize it's the elite CB who gets the big money? That teams can find nickelbackers on the cheap in the draft? That safeties are the most underpaid position in the league?
I mean maybe I have something against this guy idk. But I keep getting this feel that the guy is high maintenance. That he's going to be uncontrollable once he gets the big investment from the team.
You guys are going to tell me I'm taking this out of context. And I probably am. But we'll see and I remain concerned about this dude even though I recognize they have to get him signed due to what they gave up for him.
... and DEFINITELY don't get that vibe from what he says here. Just the opposite. You have a young guy, elite at his position, has made it clear that he wants to get paid - and he will be - but has made it equally clear that he's not about to hold out. Now, he's not only open to but welcoming of the more expansive role the young incoming DC has in mind for him.
Whether it's a good idea to try to make the elite, "shutdown" man corner something else/more is a legit question. But that Ramsey embraces the possibility says nothing but good things about his attitude, far as I'm concerned. Also speaks to his confidence, and I have no problem with that either. That he and the new DC have hit it off? GREAT.
Big personality? Clearly. High maintenance? Likely to be "uncontrollable" when he gets paid? You might need to ask yourself where that's going from for you.
