Did Barnwell coach in the NFL? Was he a GM? This is like that moment when the Pro football drafter was interviewed and said, "Who in hell is Mel skipper?!"
ESPN shows this quite every draft because it's so funny and true. Snead's fool time job is to evaluate talent and procure the best players possible for the Los Angeles Rams. I'll match his resume against BB any day. Now let's get specific. BB is quoted as writing that the Rams should've drafted an OL in the second round. That's fine. I can see that thought. Many on this board who I do consider knowledgeable wrote the same thing. But, the Rams really liked Akers. They say he fits the Rams perfectly. Dunno. They could be wrong, but if he was their target and was draft able then you make the selection. Who does BB suggest at OL that they have taken instead? Crickets. And a few picks they got Jefferson who they apparently love.
So what OL was better at 57? Nothing.
It's fine to have a take. It's fine to try to get clicks. But, to accuse a gifted GM and the hottest young HC in the NFL of being brain dead is beyond silly. And not backing up the takes with well thought strategic alternate plans is disgraceful. Maybe he is a big Cushenberry fan. Now, to actually try to grade the pros without any real experience, apparently no scouting background, never a pro player or coach together should be criminal. It's like all the film critics who pan successful writers out of jealousy.
If they could write a screenplay themselves they would. If this Barnwell could get to be the GM of any team he would take the job in a heartbeat. Maybe Snead should criticize BB's writing. He probably knows as much about BB's occupation as BB knows about Snead's. We're all hungry for great football stories about the Rams. This wasn't one of them.
