Depending on rookies to be an important part of a versatile defense sounds real bad, easily 6-10 to me. My gut feel is that this is going to be a horrible season for us.
My gut tells me 10-6 or better....
This defense is a carbon copy of what the Bears made so successful and they have the talent on this defense to be great imo especially if Lewis is as good as advertised and we can stay healthy. It is clear they are building a defense to stop the run. The most successful defenses are usually built that way.
This team was a couple plays away from 11-5 or better last year even with all the issues we had at OL and RB.... Sure some will say we were a couple plays away from 7-9 or 8-8 also, but I think we were closer to swinging it the other way. I'm very optimistic this guy brings the energy and scheme to get this defense into the top 10 or better.
