And they’re not done just yet.
Let’s see...
The arthritic/locker room/expensive Gurley was released and replaced by Akers in the 2nd.
The concussion prone/expensive Cooks was traded away gaining a late 2nd resulting in Jefferson.
The $16M Fowler was allowed to walk and replaced by the $10M Leonard Floyd on a one year prove it contract.
The $12M Littleton who struggled a bit with defending the run was allowed to walk but has not yet been replaced by an outsider. Staley must like his current roster options?
ARod, a run stopping beast, was signed on a 2 year contract.
The high ceiling Terrell Lewis fell into their lap at 84 and they had the stones to pounce, despite his reportedly freakish injury history. Took only about 5 seconds to call it in, too. Both Snead and McVay seen smiling like Cheshire cats (until McVay’s problem with the phone number). This is a potential HR pending the kid’s health.
Burgess was a gem that fell into their lap, also. Should get significant snaps if not an outright starter this year. Mr versatile.
Earlier they had addressed the GZ departure by signing 2 promising kickers, thus taking the Need to use a draft pick on a complete unknown off the table.
I’m guessing that they may try to add an ILB in the 4th and then perhaps use their 6th and 7th on help for the ST via development players.
Oh, and they restructured Goff/Hav to make all the above affordable cap-wise.
Pretty danged impressive for a team lacking a 1st and very tight on cap space that has SB aspirations.
