Not only was Snead just named GM, but he also did not have his scouts gathering the data that year they traded down and ended up with I Pead. He brought in his scouts after that first draft. But equally honestly, if they did choose Bobby Wagner, Fisher may still be head coach, so I, for one, and glad that turned out the way it did. No doubt Snead learned his lesson since his trade downs (and up) have improved since that one faux pas.
