when you trade down, the next thing you know you are drafting Isiah Pead. I prefer quality to quantity. Unless you are getting an extra 2nd or 3rd rd pick, I probably just take studs that drop.
Drafting Isaiah Pead is just bad scouting nothing can make up for that. It's not the fault of trading down because honestly both picks 40 and 45 should produce something good.
Yes, but the fact it would have been Bobby Wagner without the trade makes it sting.
Sure. Hindsight always makes things sting!
Think about it this way, their grade on Wagner wasn't high enough for them to simply decide to take him. If they're willing to risk losing Wagner and select Pead instead, their grades on those two players were in the same range.
That's a scouting issue!
