I don't watch more than a couple college games a year so I don't have a clue about the draft prospects. But I read pretty much everything on this board that discusses the draft simply to leverage the knowledge and skills of a whole host of draft gurus who post on this board. It is how I educate myself on the guys eligible to be drafted.
As for the mocks drafts, to me they are not predictions of what the Rams will do - they are an expression of what that particular poster would do. They are a mechanism for folks to apply a Ram-centric filter to their player evals, and in the process provide some insight to their thoughts on the depth of certain positions, the importance of scheme fits, and the perceived needs of the team.
There was a recent poll where someone posted a list of players and asked who the Rams should pick at 57. Because of all the info I've culled from this board I was able to make an educated vote. But I also knew there were a number of good options to pick from so when I read the list my first thought was "if this was the Rams they would definitely trade down". I mention this because a couple months ago I wouldn't have recognized a single name on the list.
I like watching the draft ... and thanks to all the outstanding resources on this board I can keep an eye on guys who I think might be Rams' targets as their pick approaches and at least form some level of educated opinion on who the Rams might pick when they're on the clock. For me, that makes watching the draft even more fun.
