I am absolutely correct. You’re talking solely about contagion.

If I walk into a room of a hundred people and 80 of them have a cold, I’ll probably come down with the germ because of the high chances of contagion. But the germ I get is the cold.

If I walk into a different room of 100 people and 10 have the mumps, then my chances of contracting that germ are much lower, but if I do come down with the less exposed germ, I have the mumps, not a cold.

Now—full disclosure—I had the mumps when I was a kid, so I actually would be immune. But having had the mumps and several times having had a cold, I’ll take catching a cold every time over getting the mumps.

It’s a common sense point. We all agree that some viruses are more virulent than others, correct? If you disagree, then I’d like to know how I was so much more miserable when I got the mumps as compared to when I’ve had colds.
