Your story reminds me of the time when the two of us went to a closing of a restaurant owned by a dear friend of the Frontiere's . Our firm had represented the ownership in some business dealings and I was selected to go because most of Ram management and coaches (not players) were present. Youngblood had been retired for a few years and sat directly across from my wife-who somehow had managed to get us seats where she could stare at him the entire night. The two of them struck up a lengthy conversation. Jealous as I am I left them and wandered to the bar where John Robinson and John Shaw were holding court. Both were very friendly and had lots of questions about the practice of law, etc. What I recall most were two things. Robinson couldn't stop raving about a rookie named Cleveland Gary who he said had thighs as big as the base of a redwood tree. The other was Shaw who by the end of our talk knew everything about me, my cases, and I knew nothing about him-other than he was adept at getting stuff from you without giving anything away. I would not want to negotiate against him. Anyway, my wife still talks about her "dinner with Jack Youngblood".
