The Chiefs running game is a great topic to discuss imo.
If you have to defend the Chiefs are you ever going to tell your players to defend the run first?
Are you ever going to put 8 in the box?
If they rush 8 times in a row for 5 yards a carry and score a TD after a 6 min drive are you then going to play the run?
I think the clear answer to all those questions is no. I will never defend the Chiefs by taking away the run. Even if they score a TD, forcing them to take 6:30 seconds to it is a small victory. At all costs, I do not want to allow the 20+ yard pass plays.
So if you agree with the above, the Chiefs running game will always be effective. Though used sparingly because they are so effective passing and passing generates so much more value(yards) for them. The thought of the Chiefs taking a rb in the first 2 rounds is crazy to me. What would make the Chiefs a scarier team is if they added yet another monster WR. Their passing offense is already ridiculously hard to stop and anything that improves that is scary. The current back Williams is more than fine for that team imo.
