had 19.5 sacks between the two of them. That's a lot to make up. I saw your post about "unpredictability and blitzing" and while I agree that Staley must be given a chance, it's an unknown for me. Would like to see where you read that, so that I can come up to speed (if you recall, of course.)
The other area that may be a drop off is turnovers. I tallied up the defensive stats lost, from Fowler, Littleton, NRC, Matthews and Peters. turnovers and QB hits / TFLs seem to be the areas that will need to made up in 2020. I'd suggest this is non-trivial, and an exposure at the present time.

I definitely recall reading about Fangio/Staley coveting unpredictability in their D pre-snap sets, RFS69. And that they liked to confuse QB’s with one look pre-snap but actually execute a different scheme post-snap. Blitzes could come from anywhere. Drives QB’s crazy. Drove McVay nuts, himself.
I read a ton of Rams stuff on multiple boards and from multiple sources so I must confess that I don’t recall the specific source for the above, consequently I can’t provide a link. Sorry. But I assure you that I did run across it and it definitely stuck in my mind since it seemed such a contrast to Wade’s D.
As to the turnover issue? Good catch, man. I got nothing on our ‘20 turnover prospects, but I will say this. IF the Rams are better able to stop the run AND if the Ram secondary is anywhere near as good as I think they are, then it seems reasonable to expect a one dimensional opposing O to give up turnovers due to a combo of pressure and coverage. Especially if playing from behind. That seems like a lethal trifecta. But at this point it’s just speculation.
