In reality I see no group better then last season. I see some that are as good as last year (WR, DB backfield). I see a drop off with ST's I see a drop off at LB, I see a drop off at RB (we just lost out on 12+ TD's)....QB...sorry I like Goff, but last year he dropped off...even with a poor to fair O-Line he really missed on some big time throws....I know he can't hit them all, but he missed at times we needed him to be on target.
I saw a drop off last year with Hekker...will this guy put him back to booming punts and stop the "specialty" punts? Punt return was nothing special, don't see much going forward there. KO's are a thing of the past as far as returns.
Over all IMO if we can tread water and stay ahead of the cards that's a good thing....The hawks are always there, the whiners will be as good or better.....adding the extra Playoff game may let us in...but others are probably going to make noise for that spot.
I am not going to speculate on the O-Line improving at the end of last season...other teams have improved their D's to possibly off set that....Whit goes down...what then?...It looks like the D is really trying to stop the run....Man I have heard that too many times...need to see it to believe it....
The bottom line is that Sean needs to really over pass his 1st season as HC...It's his game..the ball's in his court...IMO we need huge development at the TE positions...Higbee came on big time...D's are going to know that....Need a big step up from the other TE's...BIG TIME.....Goff needs to really get going with his reads, movement, feeling pressure. The new OC needs to use Goff by roll outs much more, quick snaps, 2 min. at the beginning of games...
AD is going to do his thing...that will allow everyone else to have the CHANCE to grow...but they have to be on the field...they have to try to get to AD's level (won't/can't be done), but the best they can.
I see no positions better, I see some the same, I see some with big time questions, I see some that right now are worse.
