Trying to compare apples to apples since Floyd got one year. If they signed him for ten I imagine they got that ten assigned to an Edge for next year. Some people really underestimate Cory's value here. I could care less if he is only average versus the run. But he can cover backs, dude ran with Kamara play after play. They were hoping for explosives with that matchup and got running game production. Where did you find an average run defender that can kind of cover the Kamara's of the world? Name 3. 12 million. Fml...time to pound my head into the wall for another 5 minutes.
Stopping the run doesnt win a team a Super Bowl. All this talk about the running game--on defense and on offense--bewilders me.

In the NFL you win by throwing the ball and stopping the pass. You run when the other team doesnt expect it, has less than 7 in the box, or you have the lead. Other than those situations you should be throwing off playaction.
Defensively, if a you can stop teams from gaining 6 yards per carry. They need 10+ runs to score on you. And if they do that, they will never have enough time to generate a big enough lead to take you out of the game. So, you are always one big passing play or fumble from getting back in the game. Even though your run defense got it's ass kicked.
