$10M for Floyd is the kind of contract I'd expect of a rebuilding team, a team looking for someone to hold down the strong side edge. But we have Matthews in the same role and he actually looked pretty good last year before he was injured. So if Matthews stays it seems to me he's going to be moved to ILB.

Blythe by himself (assuming his contract was affordable which at this point is a big assumption) isn't such a big deal. He's a guy who ends up being exposed by better defenses and it's a stopgap probably intended to allow for whatever rookie Center we draft to ease into the role. But pair whatever his contract is on top of that of Whit and that's a big chunk to return the same OL that wasn't good enough last year.

This free agent period just strikes me as a "treading water" type of deal where the overall haul is underwhelming. And it's not like we have some fantastic lineup of draft picks ahead either.

Strangely enough Robinson might be our best move of the FA period. He was affordable and will upgrade our 5T spot vs the run to better compete in division.

I hear ya, Merlin.

This Ram FA looks like a ‘hole plugging’ strategy to allow Snead freedom to once again move around in this draft while targeting BPA’s along the way. Do what he does best, IOW.

About Blythe. Maybe he’s a 1 year ‘insurance policy’ at C? Maybe a stud C might still be in their draft plans?

Yeah Center definitely remains a need. As I always say you can hide a weak link at Center if your Guards are very good, however I am tired of seeing guys getting blown back into Goff's face and he is at his best when he can step up with confidence. So yeah I hope we draft one this year.

Also IMO the window for the Rams to get a LT project who really has a chance to do the job for us is at our pick at 52. Which kind of sucks but it sure would be nice to see us get one. Who knows maybe that's the plan and a good pick there would potentially deepen our OL options in his rookie season at another spot.
