I think the edge rushing unit is and will be very much by committee as it has been. Last year they had 25.5 sacks as a group from the edge (led by Fowler and Matthews) after 2018 when they had just 5.0 and consistent pass rush was clearly a problem. In 2017 they had 20+ sacks off the edge "by committee" as well.
In my opinion you want and need to piece together 20+ sacks off the edge. Could that be, for example, 6 from Matthews, 5 from Floyd, 3 from Ebukam? Then you're looking for 6+ more elsewhere. Could a 2nd or high 3rd round draft pick come in and give them
some of that? Could be.
Then again, it's unclear how much more Staley may utilize the blitz (DBs) to generate pressure as well.
