the simple fact is that good teams have players that other teams covet. due to the salary cap you cant sign all of them so you make choices. the players drafted must then step up for the players let go. sometimes they will, sometimes they wont. just because the oline had some growing pains last year doesnt mean you stop developing drafted talent.
Every year they have multiple comp picks, many of them high picks from losing so many good players.
But somehow they've managed to be consistently at the top for years. They have always been good at coming up with quality replacements.
