This seems hauntingly similar to the way they dealt with the offensive line last season.
Sorry to hear about your haunting.
Truth is that whenyou're a crappy team with money to burn, as they were a few years ago, the offseason looks a lot different than when you have an abundance of players who deserve to get paid - and will get paid - and you have to pick and choose.
Hopefully, they choose wisely. AND even that doesn't guarantee success.
I still say that 11-5, 13-3, 9-7 regular season records - 33-15 regular season - plus a SB appearance, success based significantly on a bunch of bold bets by these same people, makes quite a case for their decisionmaking, in general.
I'll also note that the offseason is FAR from over. In fact, it's just beginning - and far too early to claim any similarity.
Besides, the coming seasons are the ones that show whether last offseason's OL moves will pay off or not. As many people have said, I'd say the early returns are actually very promising. The young OL guys pressed into service prematurely acquitted themselves pretty well - and the injured guys they hoped wold start paying off last season will be back.
We'll see!
