Will they trade 'around' (vs. down)? Yeah, for sure. But I think Snead and co. want to maximize their picks in the #52-130 overall range- likely ending up with five vs. the four they have in that range now. The most likely scenario for that is a move back five to ten spots from #52.

This is not a team that needs to stockpile 6th and 7th round picks. It is a very talented team that rightfully should only have 50% of its late round picks make the team at all. Moving back and back to end up with 10 picks would be a waste.

Rams hit rate on rounds 5-7, 2012-2017. Why from 2012? Snead a constant. Why only to 2017? 3 years to judge.

In that period Rams had 22 picks in rounds 5-7. They had only 1 hit who started for 3 years or more and is still in the league--Zuerlein. That's a 4.5% hit rate.

Frankly they've done better with UDFAs.

The 2018-2019 drafts look much better though. Out of 11 picks in rounds 5-7, they already have 2 apparent starters (Edwards and Sebastian-Day), which is better than they did the previous 6 years combined. If that holds, it's a hit rate of 18%. They might also have a player among the following--Kiser, Okoronkwo, Howard, Allen. We don't know yet obviously.

So, you’re saying that the Snead/McVay combo is showing better results (so far) than the Snead/Fisher combo on late picks? Cough, cough...

Relax, zn. I’m just messing with ya. Lol.
