Will they trade 'around' (vs. down)? Yeah, for sure. But I think Snead and co. want to maximize their picks in the #52-130 overall range- likely ending up with five vs. the four they have in that range now. The most likely scenario for that is a move back five to ten spots from #52.
This is not a team that needs to stockpile 6th and 7th round picks. It is a very talented team that rightfully should only have 50% of its late round picks make the team at all. Moving back and back to end up with 10 picks would be a waste.
No question, 93.
I’m guessing that Snead would love to add a pick among the top 120 or so where he deems the best value is. Currently, we have 3 but I bet that Snead will have 4 or more before Day 2 is said and done.
Those 4 plus a judicious FA period just might be enough to somewhat replace the anticipated FA losses. If Snead can pull this off then the Rams will be much better positioned cap wise to deal with ‘21 Kupp and JJ extensions. Hard to overstate the importance of retaining those two young players.
Any gems found in 6th and 7th rounds plus UDFA will be pure gravy.
