Heck, I'd resign Fowler too. I'd resign BOTH Fowler and Littleton as that's our main Front 7 defense sans AD and our DBs. I just don't know where we get those 12 sacks Fowler gave us and Littletons sideline to sideline mobility and jets in the passing game. It feels like we're doin what we did with Boom & Allen on the OL last year...cept with Fowler and Littleton this year on defense. Color me anxious for our Front 7 !!
I think Kiser is the 2-Down thumper that Reader was....but better than Reader!!!!
I really don't know about our pass rush this year...from our OLBs. I think Mathews has one more year being pretty good....and praying my guy OBO steps up...along with some other young OLBs (Patrick, Durham, etc)...but nuthin is a given.
I get your concern going with unknowns on defense. Problem is, if we sign Fowler and Littleton, if that were even possible, it likely means that we're choosing to not sign Ramsey, Kupp and/or JJ next year. The point being, we have to look at these extensions over the long term and factor in how it affects future plans.
Fowler I won't miss. He was inconsistent even with 12 sacks. Honestly, I think he benefited a lot from the attention AD gets. Littleton was good in the passing game but he wasn't the best in the running game.
Also, I'm pretty high on Patrick and OBO. I thought both did well in the limited snaps that they got. Kiser is more an unknown for me.
