It's really simple math. The Rams have around $20M now. A Goff restructure, IF the Rams choose to do one, can free up $16M by spreading the $21M bonus due this year over the remaining life of the contract. That would get them up to $36M.
Extending Ramsey is unlikely to free up any money since what he will be paid is going to be substantially above $13M and the extension would likely start the next year (2021) like all the other recent Rams extensions . But even if per chance it freed up a little 2020 salary cap money by starting this year and had a low 1st year cap number, it's not even mathematically possible for it to free up $14M.
No. I'd bet my house there is no way they get to $50M this offseason. Honestly, most people who report on this stuff don't know diddly squat about the CBA / salary cap.
