This is one thing I love about McVay though... He doesn't eff around with his staff...
Defensively he wanted more versatility and a specific schematic approach (Fangio) and went out and got a guy who can teach it to him.
Offensively he replaced Waldron in both areas he was deficient, as pass game coordinator and QB coach. O'Connell will take on both those duties.
Waldron is still the pass game coordinator. O'Connell replaces the actual coordinator--McVay.
If McV thought Waldron was deficient, why is he still with the team?
And of course the biggest issue with the offense in 2019 was the OL. Yet, McV has faith in Kromer, apparently.
