Let's remember that the presumed week one starting 5 missed 25 games collectively in 2019 (Havenstein and Allen 7 each, Noteboom 10, Blythe 1). They obviously want to make at least one and possibly two moves to upgrade the starting 5. But they also should try to enter 2020 with better depth than they had (on paper) coming into 2019. Who wasn't nervous that Demby, Edwards and Evans were the primary backups? I sure was...
Edwards and Evans acquitted themselves well and I think are classic cases of guys that should make strides in year two. I think you can count on them plus now Whitworth to be 3 of 5 starters. I have to think at least one new OL comes in- via free agency or the Draft. And, depending on Blythe, possibly two.
Either way I think Corbett, Noteboom and Allen will now come in as the top three backups which I think is much better depth as far as both talent and experience. And you have to assume that
at least one and possibly all three of them see playing time in 2020.
