Heck Shanahan is known for among other things his running attack, including its design. Yet he has a running game coordinator. Do you think that means Shanahan is not the 49ers de facto and actual offensive coordinator? He also has a passing game coordinator. You don't think Shanahan is the real coordinator? You think he delegates that to LaFleuer (pgc) and McDaniel (rgc)?

It's just a title, which can mean different things depending on the team. It's not to be taken that literally.

Again. McVay was the coordinator in 2019, not the 2 guys with the misleading title.

AND. Shanahan has the exact same arrangement in SF. He has both a running game coordinator and a passing game coordinator. That does not mean those 2 coordinate or run or design the offense--that is completely Shanahan.

Same with the Rams in 2019. Only in 2020, McVay dropped the Shanahan-like arrangement and replaced HIMSELF with an actual offensive coordinator.
