"Accepting failure on plays and hoping you hang on by the skin of your teeth"
I've done some research on the subject and have yet to find any coach admitting that they were accepting failure on plays and just hoping to hang on until the end. Personally, I think that's just one fan's description of something he sees and doesn't like.
