Letting Saffold walk away was one thing; trying to replace him with what was tantamount to a pack of scrubs was something else entirely.
To be fair, Saffold's replacement, Noteboom, got hurt in Week 6 and missed the rest of the year. Had he played the whole season it might have been a different story....and no he wouldn't have been as good as Saffold.... but he was considered their best young lineman going into the season.
This may sound harsh but Noteboom getting injured was a blessing for the OL. He was playing that horribly at OG.
He was definitely not their best young linemen at the guard position. Hopefully he does much better at OT.
