Goff needs better pass protection than most QBs. That’s probably his biggest negative. All the top QBs handle pressure better than Goff. So we can point the finger at the OL all we want, but Goff collapses more than any other good QB under pressure.
If you look at this stat---drop in qb rating under pressure v. a clean pocket--Goff is still better than Prescott, Stafford, Ryan, Brady, Cousins, Mahomes, Garoppolo, and just a tad under Rodgers.
AND there is no stat telling us who does worse with a subpar and/or injury devastated line. There's only ASSUMPTIONS about that. So for example, sometimes people can assume that a drop in qb rating under pressure would just be the same with more pressure and a collapsed OL. But a collapsed OL mostly COMPOUNDS the situation. So there is no real rubric for comparing a qb under pressure behind a collapsed OL to a qb under pressure behind a relatively stable, relatively healthy, at least decently solid OL. There are only assumptions about that.
In fact I hear all the time that there are qbs who hold up when their OL falls apart. What I don't hear is examples (plural) of that being the case. In fact, I think it;s mostly myth. There's certainly no statistical backing for that claim.

Im basing what I say on what I see with my own eyes.
And I've always said that Goff is a gifted player who can make elite level throws. We've all seen those throws. They are a sight to behold. But I've seen him look worse that other QBs when he's pressured. Thats why I've called him a Triggerfish. Just because there isn't a reliable stat that proves he's worse under pressure than other QBs doesn't mean he isn't. Based on what I've seen with my own eyes, he is worse.
I get that you want a stat to prove it, but it doesn't exist. That's your prerogative. I believe my eyes, you don't have to.
