I believe that 3 years is an adequate amount of time for Wade to put his D in at least the Top 10.
As far as I know he’s been given free rein and no shortage of players via picks, trades, and FA. Geez, what more could he ask for?
We can spin this until the cows come home, but the fact will remain that Wade’s D is wildly inconsistent and not of playoff caliber, much less SB caliber.
We can do better.
It was wildly inconsistent this year but we don't know why that is. It was SB caliber last year though. If the offense had scored more than a measly 3 points we should have won the SB.
This is my problem with those that say we need to move past Wade - and Snead for that matter. These guys got us in the SB last year and their failures were not why we lost. I'm pretty certain if we had won everyone would be saying they deserve more time.
So because the darling McVay and his offense completely wet the bed last year, we need to scapegoat the other two execs?
We possibly can do better; we can also do a lot worse. I'm on the fence on this one but I'm leaning towards keeping Wade.
I'm for the Rams doing a thorough evaluation and determining why the D was so inconsistent. If that review determines that Wade's scheme is the problem and they need to move on, then so be it. But without being on the inside and knowing what the issue really was, my vote is tilting towards keeping him.
